last days of summer

all golden glows the sun
over grazed pastures
into the oaken grove
where the acorns fall
ripe with foreboding

all peaceful the evening
when the sunrays fade
into the chill from a vale
slowly creeping
into lengthening shadows

the night will grow long and dark
when birdsong is hushing
in a mist of lost light.

there is such deep beauty in concluding summer days..or maybe i love melancholy too much :)
wish your light would find shelter in the mist.
