Sie hatte es erlebt, dass Menschen zu Gefangenen dieser Festungen, ihrer Einsamkeit, wurden und sie bis an ihr Lebensende nicht mehr verließen, und sie hoffte, Tin Win würde lernen, was sie mit den Jahren gelernt hatte: dass es Wunden gibt, die die Zeit nicht heilt, die sie aber schrumpft auf eine Größe, mit der es sich leben lässt.

yes. there are wounds that time doesn't heal. but the notion of prison can be different for different souls, and often things are not what they seem to most others. some inner prisons are indeed prisons. and they can be escaped. some gardens may seem prisons from the distance. for example the perception of monasteries- for the believers such way of life is freedom. i wonder about the context for this quote, never read this author..

It is from a book I have not yet finished reading. Tin Win is a boy who became an orphan and thus withdrew into himself but also became a great observer and developed the ability to hear much more intensely than common people. Very moving to read, sad but at he same time beautiful ...
